Rockstars: Women Founders Network & Junior VC Program
March was Women's History Month when we highlighted and did shout-outs to fellow female founders and launched a campaign to encourage people to nominate a Rockstar Woman.
Women Founders Network
We want to keep talking and giving shout-outs not only once a year but everyday. So here's about Women Founders Network (WFN) and their Junior Venture Capitalist Program.
Noodelist came across WFN after we were chosen as one of the 2022 WFN's Fast Pitch Top 10 Finalist among fellow founders from Tech Track: Clickvoyant, Emblematic Group, Litesprite, TAINR, Visual Farms.
And Consumer/CPG Track: B.T.R Nation, NearSight, Nollapelli, Six Gldn
Application for 2023 WFN Fast Pitch competition accepted April 1 - May 31, 2023.
Junior Venture Capitalist Program (Jr. VCs)
The mission of Next Generation Investors is to raise awareness, inspire and prepare the next generation of women venture capitalists and investors through education and real-life experiences. The program is unique and created to teach high school girls about investing in businesses. There are several programs targeted at teaching entrepreneurship, but few that address the issue of financing women-founded businesses.
Application for Jr. VCs program is open March 1 - April 30, 2023.
"Eleven years ago, I was one of only a few female partners in a VC firm in LA, and we rarely saw female led start-ups. So when Darya asked for help to launch a Fast Pitch competition targeted at women, I jumped right in! We wanted to create a welcoming ecosystem for female founders who needed guidance into the start-up world. And we are still working on that today!"
- Renee LaBran, Co-Founder, WFN
"We all need to do our part to create supported pathways to entrepreneurial success for women founders. That was our passion when we started WFN. We love spotlighting the founders, teaching and inspiring the next generation, our junior judges and fellows, and planting the seeds of women investing in women founders, college and high school women."
- Darya Allen-Attar, CEO & Co-Founder, WFN
Special shout-outs with Rockstar badges to Noodelist's coaches Sharon Graves and Mary Tripp. And Amy Rice, Youth Education Manager and Kim Christensen, WFN.
Thank You Darya and Renee for paying forward and creating communities like WFN and Jr. VCs Program!
